Dining South of the Border

If you've been following this blog (or happened to catch the installment last Friday, you know we head over to the Little Mexico Cantina restaurant located in Steveston almost every Friday for dinner. We dined el fresco tonight; however, there weren't too many other takers for the patio -- will the sun ever shine on us this summer?

Earlier today we had picked up some beautiful B.C. strawberries from a little road stand close by our house. Although the colour of the berry is bright red throughout and they are juicy, the taste wasn't as sweet as I've known. I'll be picking more up the middle of next week to wash and store in the freezer to satisfy the demand during the rest of the year when I want them in a smoothie or to make ice cream. The fellow at the farm stand said they'll only be around another week! My only hope is the next batch will be sweeter.
